Scope note: Forma maligna de taquicardia ventricular polimórfica que se caracteriza por una FRECUENCIA CARDIACA entre 200 y 250 latidos por minuto, y complejos QRS con amplitud cambiante y retorcimiento de las puntas. El término describe también el síndrome de taquicardia con repolarización ventricular prolongada, intervalos QT largos de más de 500 milisegundos o BRADICARDIA. Las torsades de pointes pueden ser autolimitadas o pueden progresar a FIBRILACIÓN VENTRICULAR.
