Scope note:	Número de copias de un determinado gen presentes en una célula de un organismo. El incremento de la dosificación de un gen (por ejemplo, por DUPLICACIÓN GÉNICA) puede dar lugar a mayor formación del producto del gen. Cuando hay cambios o diferencias de la dosificación de gen los mecanismos de COMPENSACIÓN DE DOSIS GENÉTICA producen ajustes hasta la cuantía de la EXPRESIÓN GÉNICA.
