Scope note: Operación en la que el material de la carie es eliminado de los dientes y se establecen formas corregidas biomecánicamente en los dientes para recibir y retener las restauraciones. Un requisito constante es tener en cuenta las medidas para prevenir un fallo de la restauración por la recurrencia de la degradación o la resistencia inadecuada a tensiones aplicadas.
