Nota de alcance: La más posterior de las tres vesículas cerebrales primitivas del encéfalo embrionario. Consta del mielencéfalo, metencéfalo e istmo rombencefálico a partir del cual se desarrollan los principales componentes del TRONCO ENCEFÁLICO como el BULBO RAQUÍDEO, del mielencéfalo, y el CEREBELO y el PUENTE del metencéfalo con la cavidad expandida que constituye el CUARTO VENTRÍCULO.
