Descriptor capa de barro dentinario
Nota de alcance: Detritus adherentes producidos al cortar el esmalte o la dentina cuando se preparan las cavidades dentales. Tiene alrededor de 1 micra de grosor y su composición es un reflejo de la dentina adyacente aunque pueden producirse cantidades y calidades diferentes de barro según las distintas técnicas de instrumentación. Se presume que su función es protectora, ya que disminuye la permeabilidad de la dentina. Sin embargo, enmascara a la dentina adyacente e interfiere con los intentos de unir el material dental con la dentina.
