Note d'application: Compuesto que contiene un anillo purínico reducido aunque no tiene relación biosintética con los alcaloides purínicos. Es un tóxico que en ocasiones está presente en ciertos moluscos comestibles; es elaborada por GONYAULAX y consumida por moluscos, pescados, etc. sin efectos nocivos. Es neurotóxico y produce PARÁLISIS RESPIRATORIA y otros efectos en los MAMÍFEROS, cuadro que se conoce como intoxicación paralítica por MOLLUSCA.

Note d'application: A compound that contains a reduced purine ring system but is not biosynthetically related to the purine alkaloids. It is a poison found in certain edible mollusks at certain times; elaborated by GONYAULAX and consumed by mollusks, fishes, etc. without ill effects. It is neurotoxic and causes RESPIRATORY PARALYSIS and other effects in MAMMALS, known as paralytic SHELLFISH poisoning.
