Note d'application: Cromosomas homólogos que no son iguales en el sexo heterogamético. Existe el CROMOSOMA X, el CROMOSOMA Y y los cromosomas W, Z (en animales en los que la hembra es del sexo heterogamético (la mariposa nocturna Bombyx mori, por ejemplo)). En dichos casos el cromosoma W determina el sexo femenino y el masculino es ZZ. (King & Stansfield, a Dictionary of Genetics 4th ed.).

Note d'application: The homologous chromosomes that are dissimilar in the heterogametic sex. There are the X CHROMOSOME, the Y CHROMOSOME, and the W, Z chromosomes (in animals in which the female is the heterogametic sex (the silkworm moth Bombyx mori, for example)).
