La adiponectina modula diversos procesos fisiológicos, como el metabolismo de la GLUCOSA y de los ÁCIDOS GRASOS, así como las respuestas inmunitarias. La disminución de la concentración plasmática de adiponectina se asocia a RESISTENCIA A LA INSULINA, DIABETES MELLITUS DE TIPO 2, OBESIDAD y ATEROSCLEROSIS.

Adiponectin modulates several physiological processes, such as metabolism of GLUCOSE and FATTY ACIDS, and immune responses. Decreased plasma adiponectin levels are associated with INSULIN RESISTANCE; TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS; OBESITY; and ATHEROSCLEROSIS.
