También está implicada en la BIOSÍNTESIS DE PROTEÍNAS y regula el crecimiento y proliferación celular como componente de la VÍA DE SEÑALIZACIÓN WNT y otras vías de señalización. Ciertos polimorfismos del gen GSK3B se han asociado a la ENFERMEDAD DE PARKINSON, la ENFERMEDAD DE ALZHEIMER y el TRASTORNO BIPOLAR.

Certain polymorphisms in the GSK3B gene have been associated with PARKINSON DISEASE; ALZHEIMER DISEASE; and BIPOLAR DISORDER.
