Inter-American Air Quality Day

Inter-American Air Quality Day is celebrated annually on the second Friday of August and was created by the Inter-American of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Association (AIDIS, from its name in Spanish Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental). The day was chosen to stimulate debate on air pollution and to raise public awareness about air pollution and its harmful effects on public health*.
