Scope note: Género de bacterias gramnegativas de forma curva o espiral, que se encuentran en medios con aguas dulces estancadas. Estos microorganismos son móviles y cuentan con penachos bipolares de flajelos o flajelos con una larga longitud de onda y aproximadamente una vuelta de hélice. Algunas especies de Spirillum producen una forma de FIEBRE POR MORDEDURA DE RATA.
