Scope note:	Término genérico que se utiliza para la aparición anormal de histiocitos en la sangre. Basado en las características patológicas de las células observadas más que en los hallazgos clínicos, esta enfermedad se subdivide en tres grupos: HISTIOCITOSIS DE CÉLULAS DE LANGERHANS; HISTIOCITOSIS DE CÉLULAS NO LANGERHANS; y TRASTORNOS HISTIOCÍTICOS MALIGNOS.

Scope note:

General term for the abnormal appearance of histiocytes in the blood. Based on the pathological features of the cells involved rather than on clinical findings, the histiocytic diseases are subdivided into three groups: HISTIOCYTOSIS, LANGERHANS CELL; HISTIOCYTOSIS, NON-LANGERHANS-CELL; and HISTIOCYTIC DISORDERS, MALIGNANT.
