Scope note: Venenos de serpientes de la subfamilia Crotalinae, o crótalos, que habitan principalmente en América. Entre ellas se encuentran la serpiente de cascabel, la mocasín de agua, la serpiente de terciopelo, la serpiente de cascabel muda y la cobra americana. Sus venenos contienen proteínas no tóxicas, así como cardiotoxinas, hemotoxinas, citotoxinas y neurotoxinas, además de muchas enzimas, especialmente la fosfolipasa A. Se han tipificado muchas de las toxinas.
