Note d'application: Enzima del citocromo P450 unida a la membrana que cataliza la 7-alfa-hidroxilación del COLESTEROL en presencia de oxígeno molecular y NADPH-FERRIHEMOPROTEÍNA REDUCTASA. Esta enzima, codificada por CYP7, convierte el colesterol en 7-alfa-hidroxicolesterol, que es el paso primero y limitante de la síntesis de los ÁCIDOS Y SALES BILIARES.

Note d'application: A membrane-bound cytochrome P450 enzyme that catalyzes the 7-alpha-hydroxylation of CHOLESTEROL in the presence of molecular oxygen and NADPH-FERRIHEMOPROTEIN REDUCTASE. This enzyme, encoded by CYP7, converts cholesterol to 7-alpha-hydroxycholesterol which is the first and rate-limiting step in the synthesis of BILE ACIDS.
