Note d'application: El prototipo de agente uricosúrico. Inhibe la excreción renal de aniones orgánicos y reduce la reabsorción tubular de urato. El probenecid ha sido también utilizado en pacientes con disfunción renal y, debido a que reduce la excreción renal de otros fármacos, ha sido utilizado como adyuvante en el tratamiento antibacteriano.

Note d'application: The prototypical uricosuric agent. It inhibits the renal excretion of organic anions and reduces tubular reabsorption of urate. Probenecid has also been used to treat patients with renal impairment, and, because it reduces the renal tubular excretion of other drugs, has been used as an adjunct to antibacterial therapy.
