Note d'application: Enzima del citocromo P450 de los microsomas hepáticos que cataliza la 12-alfa-hidroxilación de una amplia gama de esteroles en presencia de oxígeno molecular y NADPH-FERRIHEMOPROTEÍNA REDUCTASA. Esta enzima, codificada por el gen CYP8B1, convierte la 7-alfa-hidroxi-4-colesten-3-ona en 7-alfa-12-alfa-dihidroxi-4-colesten-3-ona y es necesaria en la síntesis de ÁCIDOS BILIARES a partir del colesterol.

Note d'application: A liver microsomal cytochrome P450 enzyme that catalyzes the 12-alpha-hydroxylation of a broad spectrum of sterols in the presence of molecular oxygen and NADPH-FERRIHEMOPROTEIN REDUCTASE. This enzyme, encoded by CYP8B1gene, converts 7-alpha-hydroxy-4-cholesten-3-one to 7-alpha-12-alpha-dihydroxy-4-cholesten-3-one and is required in the synthesis of BILE ACIDS from cholesterol.
