Note d'application: Programa de investigación y desarrollo iniciado por la NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE (Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina) para construir fuentes de conocimiento con el fin de ayudar al desarrollo de sistemas que ayuden a los profesionales sanitarios a recuperar e integrar la información biomédica. Se pueden utilizar las fuentes de conocimiento para relacionar los distintos sistemas de información para poder superar los problemas de recuperación causados por las diferencias en terminología y la diseminación de información importante en las muchas bases de datos. Las tres fuentes de conocimiento son Metathesaurus, Semantic Network y Specialist Lexicon.

Note d'application: A research and development program initiated by the NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE to build knowledge sources for the purpose of aiding the development of systems that help health professionals retrieve and integrate biomedical information. The knowledge sources can be used to link disparate information systems to overcome retrieval problems caused by differences in terminology and the scattering of relevant information across many databases. The three knowledge sources are the Metathesaurus, the Semantic Network, and the Specialist Lexicon.
