Note d'application:	Parte coclear del octavo nervio craneal (NERVIO VESTÍBULOCOCLEAR). Las fibras nerviosas cocleares se originan a partir de las neuronas del GANGLIO ESPIRAL y se proyectan periféricamente hacia las células ciliadas cocleares y centralmente hacia los núcleos cocleares (NÚCLEO COCLEAR) del TRONCO CEREBRAL. Ellos median el sentido de la audición.

The cochlear part of the 8th cranial nerve (VESTIBULOCOCHLEAR NERVE). The cochlear nerve fibers originate from neurons of the SPIRAL GANGLION and project peripherally to cochlear hair cells and centrally to the cochlear nuclei (COCHLEAR NUCLEUS) of the BRAIN STEM. They mediate the sense of hearing.
