Nota de escopo: ERITROCITOS inmaduros. En los seres humanos, estos son células eritroides que apenas sufrieron extrusión de su NÚCLEO CELULAR. Aún contienen algunas organelas que gradualmente disminuyen en número mientras las células maduran. Los RIBOSOMAS son los últimos en desaparecer. Ciertas técnicas de tinción causan que componentes de los ribosomas precipiten formando un característico retículo (no es lo mismo que el retículo endoplasmático), de ahí el nombre de reticulocitos.
