Scope note: Cuerpo ovoide que descansa sobre la LAMINA CRIBOSA del hueso etmoides, donde termina el NERVIO OLFATORIO. El bulbo olfatorio contiene diversos tipos de células nerviosas, como las células mitrales, sobre cuyas DENDRITAS las sinapsis del nervio olfatorio conforman el glomérulo olfatorio. También se incluye aquí el bulbo olfatorio accesorio, que recibe la proyección del ÓRGANO VOMERONASAL a través del nervio vomeronasal.

Scope note: Ovoid body resting on the CRIBRIFORM PLATE of the ethmoid bone where the OLFACTORY NERVE terminates. The olfactory bulb contains several types of nerve cells including the mitral cells, on whose DENDRITES the olfactory nerve synapses, forming the olfactory glomeruli. The accessory olfactory bulb, which receives the projection from the VOMERONASAL ORGAN via the vomeronasal nerve, is also included here.
