Testotoxicosis
Tree number(s): C19.391.693
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D011629
Scope note: Development of SEXUAL MATURATION in boys and girls at a chronological age that is 2.5 standard deviations below the mean age at onset of PUBERTY in the population. This early maturation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis results in sexual precocity, elevated serum levels of GONADOTROPINS and GONADAL STEROID HORMONES such as ESTRADIOL and TESTOSTERONE.

Concept UI M0563087
Scope note An autosomal dominant hereditary disorder that is characterized by gonadotropin-dependent precocious puberty due to early activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. A mutation in the KISS1R gene has been identified. OMIM: 176400

Concept UI M000638082
Scope note Familial precocious puberty in boys usually presents by age 4 with rapid VIRILIZATION and is also characterized by gonadotropin-independent testosterone secretion, low secretion of LUTEINIZING HORMONE, and advanced SPERMATOGENESIS in the testis. Mutations in the LHCGR gene have been identified. OMIM: 176410
