Scope note: Tumor teratoide raro del ovario compuesto la mayoría de las veces por tejido tiroideo casi exclusivamente, co grandes folículos que contienen abundante coloide. A veces existen síntomas de hipertiroidismo. El 5-10 por ciento de estos tumores pueden ser malignos, los cuales presentan como unico criterio la presencia de metástasis. Scope note: A rare teratoid tumor of the ovary composed almost entirely of thyroid tissue, with large follicles containing abundant colloid. Occasionally there are symptoms of hyperthyroidism. 5-10% of struma ovarii become malignant, the only absolute criterion for which is the presence of metastasis.
