Scope note: Provocación de un nistagmo rotatorio por la estimulación de los canales semicirculares con agua o aire a temperatura superior o inferior a la del cuerpo. Con estimulación calórica tibia se desarrolla un nistagmo rotatorio hacia el lado del oído estimulado; con el frío, se aleja del lado estimulado. La ausencia de nistagmo indica que el laberinto no funciona.
