Scope note: Porción extracelular del RECEPTOR DE INMUNOGLOBULINAS POLIMÉRICAS que se encuentra solo o formando complejos con IgA o IgM en una variedad de secreciones externas (lágrimas, bilis, calostro). El componente secretorio deriva por desdoblamiento proteolítico del receptor durante la transcitosis. Cuando las inmunoglobulinas IgA e IgM se unen al receptor durante su transcitosis, el componente secretor se une covalentemente a ellas generando INMUNOGLOBULINA A SECRETORA o INMUNOGLOBULINA M SECRETORA.

Scope note: The extracellular moiety of the POLYMERIC IMMUNOGLOBULIN RECEPTOR found alone or complexed with IGA or IGM, in a variety of external secretions (tears, bile, colostrum.) Secretory component is derived by proteolytic cleavage of the receptor during transcytosis. When immunoglobulins IgA and IgM are bound to the receptor, during their transcytosis secretory component becomes covalently attached to them generating SECRETORY IMMUNOGLOBULIN A or secretory IMMUNOGLOBULIN M.
