Descriptor English: Mitochondria, Liver
(Alberts, et al.,MolecularBiology of the Cell, 2da ed, p343-4)
Descriptor Portuguese: Mitocôndrias Hepáticas
Descriptor French: Mitochondries du foie
Entry term(s): Liver Mitochondria
Liver Mitochondrion
Mitochondrion, Liver
Tree number(s): A11.284.430.214.190.875.564.461
A11.284.835.626.461
RDF Unique Identifier: https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D008930
Scope note: Mitochondria in hepatocytes. As in all mitochondria, there are an outer membrane and an inner membrane, together creating two separate mitochondrial compartments: the internal matrix space and a much narrower intermembrane space. In the liver mitochondrion, an estimated 67% of the total mitochondrial proteins is located in the matrix. (From Alberts et al., Molecular Biology of the Cell, 2d ed, p343-4)
