Scope note: Estudios para comprobar hipótesis etiológicas, en los que, a partir de datos relativos a las características de las personas estudiadas o acontecimientos o experiencias pasadas, se extraen conclusiones sobre una exposición a factores presuntamente causales. La principal característica es que algunas de las personas en estudio padecen la enfermedad o resultado de interés y se comparan sus características con las de las personas no afectadas.
