Scope note: Técnica quirúrgica que se emplea principalmente en el tratamiento de los neoplasias cutáneas, especialmente en carcinomas de células basales o células escamosas de la piel. Este procedimiento es una extirpación controlada microscópicamente de tumores cutáneos tras fijación in vivo o posterior a la congelación del tejido. Cada vez con mayor frecuencia se realizan exámenes seriados de muestras de tejido fresco.
