Scope note: Meridians are channels of energy that run through the body like a network, interconnecting the main organs and other parts of the body. The meridians transport vital energy (QI) that regulates the functioning of the various structures of the body. Along the meridians are ACUPUNCTURE points, which, when stimulated by the insertion of needles, cupping therapy, moxa, acupressure, among others, influence and balance the free circulation of vital energy (qi).
