Scope note: Forma de RABDOMIOSARCOMA que se localiza principalmente en la cabeza y el cuello, especialmente en la órbita, en niños menores de 10 años. Las células son más pequeñas que las de otros rabdomiosarcomas y son de dos tipos celulares básicos: células fusiformes y células redondas. Este cáncer es muy sensible a la quimioterapia y tiene una alta tasa de curación con tratamientos de múltiples modalidades. (Holland et al., Cancer Medicine, 3d ed, p. 2188)
