El sesgo de publicación tiene impacto sobre la interpretación de los ensayos clínicos y los metaanálisis. Se puede reducir al mínimo el sesgo por la insistencia por parte de los directores de las publicaciones sobre la investigación de gran calidad, revisiones concienzudas de la literatura , reconocimiento de los conflictos de interés, modificación de las prácticas de la revisión por pares, etc.
