Scope note: Tumor benigno de crecimiento lento, que suele afectar a las glándulas salivales, en forma de nódulo pequeño, firme e indoloro. Generalmente afecta a la glándula parótida, pero también se puede encontrar en cualquier otra glándula salival principal o accesoria, en cualquier punto de la cavidad bucal. Es más frecuente en mujeres en la quinta década de la vida. Histológicamente, el tumor presenta diversas células: cúbicas, cilíndricas y escamosas, mostrando todas las formas de crecimiento epitelial. (Dorland, 27th ed)

Scope note: A benign, slow-growing tumor, most commonly of the salivary gland, occurring as a small, painless, firm nodule, usually of the parotid gland, but also found in any major or accessory salivary gland anywhere in the oral cavity. It is most often seen in women in the fifth decade. Histologically, the tumor presents a variety of cells: cuboidal, columnar, and squamous cells, showing all forms of epithelial growth.
