Scope note	Labor or domestic exposure of human beings to pesticides used in rural and urban areas, in homes and in public health campaigns for the eradication or control of intermediate hosts (rats, insects, molluscs, etc.). Pesticides pose health risks because they can cause acute, subacute and chronic poisoning, and the effects on health depend on the form of exposure (absorption route, dose, concentration), characteristics of the individual (age, sex, weight, status nutritional) and product characteristics (manufacturing impurities, stability and solubility).
