Scope note: Disfunción o daño cerebral que se produce por HIPERTENSIÓN MALIGNA, asociada generalmente con una presión sanguínea diastólica superior a 125 mm Hg. Las manifestaciones clínicas incluyen cefalea, náusea, vómitoss, convulsiones, estado mental alterado (en algunos casos progresan hasta el COMA), PAPILEDEMA y HEMORRAGIA RETINIANA.

Scope note: Brain dysfunction or damage resulting from sustained MALIGNANT HYPERTENSION. When BLOOD PRESSURE exceeds the limits of cerebral autoregulation, cerebral blood flow is impaired (BRAIN ISCHEMIA). Clinical manifestations include HEADACHE; NAUSEA; VOMITING; SEIZURES; altered mental status (in some cases progressing to COMA); PAPILLEDEMA; and RETINAL HEMORRHAGE.
