Son áreas especializadas de la membrana plasmática compuestas por FILAMENTOS INTERMEDIOS que se unen en la superficie citoplasmática a los conectores transmembrana, INTEGRINAS, mediante proteínas de enlace intracelulares, mientras que el dominio extracelular de las integrinas se une a las PROTEÍNAS DE LA MATRIZ EXTRACELULAR.
