Scope note: Partículas de cualquier sustancia sólida, generalmente de tamaño inferior a 30 micras, que suelen denominarse PM30. Existe una especial preocupación con las PM1 porque pueden alcanzar los ALVÉOLOS PULMONARES e inducir la ACTIVACIÓN DE LOS MACRÓFAGOS y la FAGOCITOSIS, lo que causa una REACCIÓN DE CUERPO EXTRAÑO y ENFERMEDADES PULMONARES.
