Scope note: Forma de LEPRA clasificada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud con fines de tratamiento, basándose en las manifestaciones clínicas y en los resultados de los extendidos cutáneos. Los pacientes con lepra multibacilar tienen seis o más lesiones cutáneas, con o sin positividad de las extensiones cutáneas para el agente causal MYCOBACTERIUM LEPRAE. La lepra multibacilar comprende la lepra lepromatosa fronteriza (dimorfa), fronteriza intermedia (dimorfa intermedia), y la lepra lepromatosa.
