Note d'application: Antígeno carbohidrato que se halla aumentado en pacientes  con tumores de mama, ovario, pulmones y próstata así como en otras enfermedades. La mucina se expresa normalmente en la mayoría de los epitelios glandulares, pero está especialmente aumentada en la mama durante la lactancia y en las  neoplasias. Es, por tanto, un marcador sérico establecido para el cáncer de mama.

Note d'application: Carbohydrate antigen elevated in patients with tumors of the breast, ovary, lung, and prostate as well as other disorders. The mucin is expressed normally by most glandular epithelia but shows particularly increased expression in the breast at lactation and in malignancy. It is thus an established serum marker for breast cancer.
