Nota de escopo: Anomalía congénita en la que los órganos del TORAX y del ABDOMEN tienen localizaciones opuestas respecto de sus posiciones normales (situs solitus), debido a transposición lateral. Normalmente, el ESTÓMAGO y el BAZO están a la izquierda, el HÍGADO a la derecha, los los tres lóbulos del pulmón derecho se encuentran a la derecha y los dos lóbulos del pulmón izquierdo a la izquierda. Situs inversus presenta un patrón familiar y se ha relacionado con diversos genes vinculados a las proteínas asociadas a los microtúbulos.
