Scope note: Tiempo requerido para que aparezcan las fibras de FIBRINA, después de mezclar el PLASMA con un sustituto de los fosfolípidos plaquetarios (p. ej., cefalinas crudas, fosfátidos de semilla de soja). Es una prueba de la vía intrínseca de la COAGULACIÓN SANGUÍNEA (factores VIII, IX, XI y XII) y de la común (fibrinógeno, protrombina, factores V y X). Se usa como prueba de cribado y para la monitorización del tratamiento con HEPARINA.

Scope note: The time required for the appearance of FIBRIN strands following the mixing of PLASMA with phospholipid platelet substitute (e.g., crude cephalins, soybean phosphatides). It is a test of the intrinsic pathway (factors VIII, IX, XI, and XII) and the common pathway (fibrinogen, prothrombin, factors V and X) of BLOOD COAGULATION. It is used as a screening test and to monitor HEPARIN therapy.
