Scope note: Sal dipotásica del ácido crómico (H2Cr2O7). Compuesto que forma cristales rojo-anaranjado, brillantes y se utiliza como coloronate, para tinción y curtido del cuero, como blanqueador, oxidante, despolarizante de baterías secas (pilas), etc. En Medicina se ha utilizado externamente como astringente, antiséptico y cáustico. Si es ingerido actúa como corrosivo.
