Scope note: Ácido(11 alfa,13E,15S)-11,15-dihidroxi-9-oxoprost-13-en-1-oico (PGE(1)); ácido (5Z,11 alfa,13E,15S)-11,15-dihidroxi-9-oxoprosta-5,13-dien-1-oico (PGE(2)); y ácido (5Z,11 afha,13E,15S,17Z)-11,15-dihidroxi-9-oxoprosta-5,13,17-trien-1-oico (PGE(3)). Tres de las seis prostaglandinas naturales. Se consideran primarias porque ninguna de ellas deriva de otra en los organismos vivos. Aisladas originalmente del líquido y vesículas seminales del carnero, se encuentran en muchos órganos y tejidos y desempeñan un papel principal en la mediación de diversas actividades fisiológicas.
