Scope note: Conjunto de medidas capaces de eliminar, disminuir o prevenir riesgos para la salud y de intervenir en los problemas sanitarios derivados del medio ambiente, de la producción y circulación de bienes así como de la prestación de servicios de interés para la salud. La vigilancia sanitaria comprende: i) el control de bienes de consumo que, directa o indirectamente, se relacionen con la salud, en todas las etapas de la producción y del de consumo, y, ii) el control de la prestación de servicios que se relacionen, directa o indirectamente, con la salud (Ley 8.080, de 19.9.1990, Brasil).
