Scope note: Proteínas de la superficie celular que se poseen alta afinidad para unirse a la HORMONA DEL CRECIMIENTO y generan cambios intracelulares que influyen en el comportamiento celular. La activación de los receptores de la hormona del crecimiento regula el transporte de aminoácidos a través de las membranas celulares, la traducción del ARN de las proteínas, la transcripción del ADN y el catabolismo de proteínas y aminoácidos en muchos tipos celulares. Muchos de estos efectos son mediados indirectamente a través de la estimulación de liberación de somatomedinas.
