Scope note: Dermatitis exfoliativa, más frecuente en los niños que en los adultos, caracterizada por la aparición de un eritema doloroso generalizado, sobre el que se forman ampollas extensas y fláccidas. La piel se descama a tiras, ya sea espontáneamente o tras traccionar levemente de ella (signo de Nikolsky). Depende de la producción por estafilococos del grupo II tipo 71 de una toxina exfoliativa que origina la dehiscencia de la epidermis a la altura del estrado granuloso.
