Scope note: Serodiagnóstico de sífilis que emplea como antígeno al Treponema pallidum obtenido de la orquitis sifilítica del conejo. Los treponemas se mantienen vivos unas pocas horas en un medio especial. Tras incubación con suero sifilítico y complemento los treponemas son inmovilizados, es decir, dejan de moverse.
