Scope note: Células sanguíneas de la serie blanca, que se forman en los tejidos linfoides del organismo. Poseen un núcleo redondo u ovalado con cromatina tosca e irregularmente distribuida y con un citoplasma que se tiñe de un típico color azul pálido con gránulos azurfílicos (si existen). La mayoría de los linfocitos pueden clasificarse como células T o B (con subpoblaciones dentro de cada uno de estos tipos) o CÉLULAS ASESINAS NATURALES.

Scope note: White blood cells formed in the body's lymphoid tissue. The nucleus is round or ovoid with coarse, irregularly clumped chromatin while the cytoplasm is typically pale blue with azurophilic (if any) granules. Most lymphocytes can be classified as either T or B (with subpopulations of each), or NATURAL KILLER CELLS.
