Scope note: Medición de campos magnéticos sobre la cabeza generados por las corrientes eléctricas del cerebro. Como en cualquier conductor eléctrico, los campos eléctricos cerebrales se acompañan de campos magnéticos ortogonales. La medida de estos campos aporta información acerca de la localización de la actividad cerebral que es complementaria a la aportada por la ELECTROENCEFALOGRAFÍA. La magnetoencefalografía puede ser utilizada sola o junto a la electroencefalografía, para medir la actividad espontánea o provocada y con fines de investigación o clínicos.
