Scope note: En pruebas de cribado y diagnósticas, se denomina valor predictivo positivo de una prueba a la probabilidad de que una persona con un test positivo sea un verdadero positivo (es decir, tenga la enfermedad) mientras que el valor predictivo negativo de un test es la probabilidad de que la persona con una resultado negativo no tenga la enfermedad. El valor predictivo está asociado a la sensibilidad y especificidad de la prueba.
