Scope note: Neoplasia maligna derivada de células cartilaginosas, más frecuente en los huesos de la pelvis o cerca de los extremos de los huesos largos, en personas maduras y ancianas. Casi todos los condrosarcomas nacen de novo, pero algunos pueden desarrollarse en una lesión cartilaginosa preexistente benigna o en pacientes con ENCONDROMATOSIS. (Stedman, 25th ed)

Scope note: A slowly growing malignant neoplasm derived from cartilage cells, occurring most frequently in pelvic bones or near the ends of long bones, in middle-aged and old people. Most chondrosarcomas arise de novo, but some may develop in a preexisting benign cartilaginous lesion or in patients with ENCHONDROMATOSIS. (Stedman, 25th ed)
