Scope note: Tumor maligno que procede de células lipoblásticas primitivas o embrionarias. Puede estar formado por células grasas bien diferenciadas o bien no diferenciadas: mixoides (LIPOSARCOMA MIXOIDE), células redondas o pleomorfas, generalmente asociado a una rica red de capilares. Las recidivas son frecuentes, produciéndose metástasis indiferenciadas en los pulmones o las superficies serosas. (Dorland, 27th ed; Stedman, 25th ed)
